If you are like the majority of the population, we have so many things on our mind, that we often forget the many items that need to be completed before spring/summer RV season hits. Here is a checklist to assist with taking some of the pressure off.
Exterior
Inspect Tires: Check the pressure, tread, and any signs of wear and tear.
Wash and Wax: Give the exterior a good wash and wax to protect the paint.
Check Seals and Joints: Ensure there are no leaks in the roof, windows, and doors.
Awning Check: Extend the awning and inspect for any tears, damage or mold.
Interior
Deep Clean: Vacuum, dust, and clean every nook and cranny.
Check Appliances: Test the fridge, stove, microwave, and other appliances to ensure they're working.
Plumbing: Run water through all faucets and check for leaks. Don’t forget to sanitize the water system.
Restock Supplies: Make sure you have all the essentials - first aid kit, toiletries, food, and camping gear.
Mechanical
Battery Check: Inspect the battery, clean the terminals, and charge if necessary.
Fluids: Check and top off all fluids - oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc.
Engine and Generator: Start them up and ensure everything is running smoothly.
Lights and Signals: Make sure all lights and signals are functioning properly.
Safety
Fire Extinguishers: Check that they are fully charged and not expired.
Smoke and CO Detectors: Test the alarms and replace batteries if needed.
Emergency Kit: Ensure you have emergency supplies like flashlights, batteries, and basic tools.
Final Touches
Decorate: Make it cozy with new cushions, curtains, or decorations.
Plan Your Route: Make sure you have maps, guides, and a rough itinerary.
Entertainment: Stock up on books, games, or whatever helps you unwind.
